Security System

We are concerned with the safety of our preschoolers and teachers at New Hope Baptist Church West.  A security system is used to protect our preschoolers.  The parent or responsible adult bringing the preschooler to church will sign in the child and receive a numbered pager or card to bring back to the preschool department when picking up the child.  At that time the adult will return the correct pager or card and sign out the preschooler.  Please attach pagers to your clothing.  By wearing the pagers you will know when the pager vibrates.  If your pager vibrates, please come to the preschool welcome desk and someone will be there to let you know your child's needs.  Parents are asked to leave children and call for them at preschool doors rather than entering the preschool rooms.  To avoid confusion in the preschool departments and for security reasons children are to remain in the rooms until called for by a parent or someone designated by the parents.  In the event someone other than the parent(s) is to pick up the child, information should be given to the preschool workers when leaving the child in the department.  The person must be at least 18 years old to pick up the preschooler.  A Child Protection Policy is in place to assure the safety of the children.

Guidelines

Parents will fill out an information sheet which includes information on where they can be reached and any special instructions for care.

All formula must be prepared and ready for feeding.  Formula must be in plastic bottles or cups.

Please label all bags, bottles, etc. with the child's full name.  Preschoolers have difficulty sharing their belongings, so all toys should be left at home.

Snacks are served during extended session.  Parents should inform teachers of any allergies a child might have so those foods will not be served to the child.

Babies and one year olds are promoted based on their physical development.  After the age of two, they are promoted yearly based on their age as of  September 1.
